PROGRAM
President Wilkinson
will introduce our member, James Dill, who is in charge
of program. Rev. James Knuckles, pastor of Antioch
Church for 33 years. He is presently a city councilman. He
has also been a teacher and a principle. Currently, he
recruits teachers for the state.
PROGRAM
FOR
SEPTEMBER

Frank Wells
is in charge of the program. He has arranged for Lt. Gen.
Cleveland, U.S. Air Force, retired to be the speaker.
Gen. Cleveland was the commanding general of the Air
University before retiring. He has been the head of several
organizations in Montgomery since his retirement. General
Cleveland will speak about Proposition I. Vince Cox
will introduce the General.
PROGRAM
FOR SEPTEMBER 11th
Bill Scarbrough
is in charge of the program. He will have one of the managers
of the Health Clinic that is sponsored by Baptist Hospital.
Several Club members volunteer at the Clinic.

for the Club participation in activities at Dalraida School.
Ken Carrick will schedule members for this activity at
this meeting.

On October 9th the Club plans to have lunch
for the teachers from 10:30-11:00 with Club members monitoring
the students. If you have any questions, contact Ken Carrick,

RSVP LUNCHEON
September 10th
the RSVP
Recognition Luncheon will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Club
members will be at the doors assisting the volunteers from
9:30-1:30. Club members will be provided lunch. Contact Ken
Carrick to sign up.
EDUCATION
SPOT
Kiwanis International Conventions began when the
Kiwanis Club of Cleveland invited representatives of other
clubs to meet there in May 1916. At the time, just 16 months
after the Detroit No. 1 Club was chartered, there was a total
of 16 Clubs with 1,924 members. A Kiwanis International
Convention has been held every year since then, except for
limited conventions in 1943-45, due to the war time travel
restrictions. Today, the usual attendance at an International
Convention is about 12,000.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The
increase in dues will be discussed. It will be
presented to the membership and they will be asked to vote on
it.
A report
from the last Board Meeting will be made.
Peanut
Sales will be starting soon, so start lining up your
customers. Each member will be expected to sell 20 lbs.
